The
45-minute performance narrates the story of Hathor, an Egyptian
princess on her way to maturity as queen of the heavens. During
her journey her magic fire is taken from her by Seth, the desert
god. Horus, the god of the heavens assists her to defeat Seth
and thus regain the fire. Various gods join them on their quest
to regain the fire, among others, Anubis, god of the night and
Nechbet and Ute, the love goddesses who show Hathor how she should
behave as a true queen. Finally there is a confrontation with
the hostile Seth with, of course, a struggle, but, in the end,
love will triumph.
For years the actors have trained passionately to master the art
of fire-dancing perfectly. They will show you disciplines originally
practised by the Maori tribe, such as poi and double staff. You
will also become acquainted with fire-swords from eastern martial
arts and the more traditional fire disciplines such as fire-spitting,
fire-fans and fire-crowns.
